Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2021
This year marks a decade of Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride when classic and vintage style motorcycles and their riders with suits unite for a great cause.
Last Sunday, on May 23rd 2021, over 120 000 dapper riders in 750 different cities around the globe rode their vintage motorcycles to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer and men’s mental health.
The DGR was founded in Sydney by Mark Hawwa who was inspired by Don Draper from the TV Show Mad Men dressed up in a suit and sitting on the classic motorcycle. Since then, the DGR has become globe’s phenomenon and one of the world’s largest fundraisers for men’s health.
Due to this year’s restrictions in various countries, the format of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was a little different. There’s been a mix of solo rides or route only events across the cities and some being postponed due to weather or COVID rules.
This year, the event has raised more than $3.8m USD on its 10th year anniversary and more than $31M in total since the beginning.
A huge thank you to organisers, volunteers, corner markers, sponsors, thanks who donated and everyone who participated.
Liberta Moto had a chance to be in Sydney to participate in a group ride with others. Check out some great photos of the day!
